Client’s Role in the Office Build Out

What Does the Client Do?

A client can choose to take a large role in the build out or smaller role.  There are some things that are definitely required of the client throughout the process and your contract will advise you of what’s needed.   BNB works hard to give all this information to the client up front so the flow of the project isn’t interrupted due to a choice/option/design decision needed from the client.

Timely design selections are one of biggest roles a client will play in the build-out process.  Your contractor should be guiding you through this process and should be providing you with deadlines shortly after you execute your contract.  If you’ve hired a designer or architect outside if your contractor’s scope of work making sure they are aware of deadlines by the Contractor is key.  Introducing these groups earlier on is ideal for a timely project.

Having your team in place is a key role to be played by the client.  Your finance partner, your contractor, your equipment provider – the team members working together is ideal for a successful smooth project.

Your project will require a few site meetings with the full team in attendance, making this a priority will ensure a smooth project and clearly define the role of each team member.

Whether you choose to have a large role in the build out or smaller role, the most important role you can play is trusting your contractor, so pick a contractor and other team members that have experience.  It’s okay if this is your first dental office build out, just make sure your team members have been doing this for years and the outcome will be wonderful!
